Dear Class of 2020:

Earlier this fall, President DeGioia shared that Georgetown would welcome the Class of 2020 back to campus the weekend of May 28-29, 2022, to recognize your achievements with your families, friends, and classmates.

As planning for this weekend continues, we wanted to communicate the planned timing of these ceremonies to support your travel planning, particularly as you may be with family over the holidays.

The commencement ceremonies will be held on Healy Lawn, and families and friends are invited to attend. Graduates will wear academic regalia, and individual names will be called as graduates cross the stage.

A Baccalaureate Mass will be held on Sunday, May 29, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a commencement brunch for graduates and their families.

Additional information about the weekend’s schedule, as well as information about on-campus housing and academic regalia, will be shared in the new year. All events will be subject to the university’s health and safety guidelines in place at that time and may be adjusted.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility as planning continues in the evolving public health context, and look forward to celebrating with you in May.
