Announcing the Search Committee for the Dean of Georgetown Law
Dear Georgetown Law Community:
I write to share an announcement regarding the search committee for the next Dean of Georgetown Law.
With Dean William M. Treanor’s decision to step down from his leadership after 15 years of service to the Law Center, the President’s Office had the responsibility of appointing a search committee to evaluate candidates for Dean Treanor’s successor. I thank the various bodies of the Law Center community for providing input on colleagues who they support as members of a search committee for the next dean. I followed their advice regarding different perspectives that are most important to represent in the group of twelve members.
I appreciate the willingness of Professor Eloise Pasachoff, Agnes Williams Sesquicentennial Professor of Law, to chair the Committee. Joining her on the Committee are members of the faculty, academic leaders, and the student body.
- Dorothy A. Brown, Martin D. Ginsburg Chair in Taxation and Professor of Law

The Committee’s work will be assisted by the search firm Russell Reynolds.
To ensure that many experiences and perspectives are incorporated, the search firm and the Committee will launch a process to gather input from the broader Law Center community, with more details to come.
I thank these colleagues for their willingness to serve the Law Center and Georgetown in this important duty.
Sincerely,
Robert M. Groves
Interim President
