Your Ideas to Support Georgetown’s Future
The following message was sent to all faculty and staff in the Georgetown University community.
Dear Colleagues,
In December, at our Faculty and Staff Town Halls and in my follow-up message, I indicated that we would be announcing a university-wide program to solicit ideas that could address financial uncertainty and contribute to the long-term stability of our University.
Today, I invite you, our faculty and staff, to begin sharing your ideas for revenue-generation and/or cost-savings initiatives at Georgetown. I believe that those closest to our academic, administrative, and operational work are often best positioned to identify thoughtful and practical opportunities that would improve our financial context. You can help us identify impactful and unrealized opportunities for Georgetown.
- Engage faculty and staff to identify cost-savings and revenue-generating opportunities for Georgetown
A full range of ideas are welcome, including but not limited to:
- Consolidation or improvements of tools, vendors, or processes
- Identification of redundant or outdated contracts
- Enterprise solutions for commonly used resources
- Identification of space usage opportunities
- Academic program enrollment initiatives
Ideas for consideration must be consistent with the mission and values of Georgetown.
- Complete our idea submission form.
- When describing your idea, please explain the primary area of impact, the opportunity your idea creates or problem it solves, considerations for implementation, and the scale of the impact.
- An ideal submission will be around 150-250 words.
- The submission form will remain open through Friday, February 20, 2026. Submissions will be carefully reviewed on a rolling basis. This program will conclude at the end of the Spring 2026 semester.
- All ideas will be reviewed and evaluated based on their feasibility and potential for impact.
This is a time for creativity and innovation. We seek your help in unlocking new ideas that will contribute to our long-term financial health.
I look forward to sharing updates on the outcomes of this collective effort in the time ahead.
Thank you in advance for your engagement in this important work and for your continued dedication to our shared mission.
Sincerely,
Robert M. Groves
Interim President
