Announcing a Transformational Investment in the Georgetown Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy

Dear Members of the Georgetown Community,

I write to announce that Michael Psaros (B’89 P’21 HON’25), Robin Psaros (P’21), and their family have expanded their investment in the Georgetown Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy, bringing their total commitment to the Center to $25 million. Their generosity has enabled the Psaros Center to become the preeminent academic center focused on global finance and policy. 

Founded in 2010 in the aftermath of the Great Recession and endowed by the Psaros family in 2022, the Psaros Center seeks to shape policy and practice through rigorous, nonpartisan solutions-oriented research, immersive student experiences and robust dialogue. Led by Professor Reena Aggarwal, Ph.D., Robert E. McDonough Professor of Finance, the Psaros Center has become known for its ability to bridge the gap between academic research and industry practice, with its distinguished and visiting fellows programs, its competitions and career development opportunities for students, and its public scholarship. Regular convenings, including the annual Financial Markets Quality Conference, taking place tomorrow at our McDonough School of Business, bring policymakers, regulators and financial-market leaders into dialogue with faculty experts on global financial policy issues. This new gift will enable the Center to enhance these programs and expand its focus on rapidly emerging issues, such as artificial intelligence, crypto and digital assets, prediction markets, data and changing market structures.

Georgetown has been fortunate to benefit from the Psaros family’s support over many decades, and we are grateful to Michael for his leadership as a recent member of our Board of Directors and his longtime service as vice chair of the McDonough School of Business Advisory Board. Their contributions to the Psaros Center, McDonough School of Business, Orthodox Life and our university more broadly have been transformative.
