Graduate Student AI Fellows Opportunity

The following message was sent to all graduate students in the Georgetown University community.

Dear Georgetown Graduate Students,

I am writing to share information about Georgetown’s AI Fellows Program, a new initiative that brings faculty and students together to explore how AI is shaping teaching and learning. All full-time Georgetown graduate students are invited to apply, in accordance with their academic program’s guidance. For Ph.D. candidates, for example, the AI Fellowship is designed as a secondary, hourly opportunity for those students who already hold stipended graduate assistantships but are permitted to work an additional five hours.

The program pairs faculty members with AI-fluent undergraduate and graduate students to collaborate over the fall and spring. As graduate students, you bring valuable perspectives from your research, coursework, and, for many of you, teaching. Working with a faculty partner, you might help them rethink assignments and assessments, develop course materials, test AI tools against actual course tasks, or investigate how AI is changing your discipline or profession. The purpose of the initiative is to explore where these technologies can strengthen learning, where they complicate it, and how Georgetown should respond.

Applications are welcomed on or before October 5, 2026. A faculty committee associated with the Georgetown AI Initiative will review proposals, and selections will be announced by October 12. Each AI Fellow will receive up to $2,500 for the fall and spring semesters, paid hourly.
