Annual Holiday Celebrations

Georgetown University’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Children’s Holiday Party are cherished traditions in our Georgetown community.

Join us on the first Friday of December for an evening of music, community, and fun!

Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

The Georgetown University Christmas Tree is officially lit on the first Friday of December in a university-wide celebration in Dahlgren Quad.

Featured Performers

This festive ceremony, in coordination with the Department of Performing Arts, features holiday music performed by Georgetown’s musical groups, along with hot chocolate and holiday-themed snacks.

Children’s Holiday Party

The Children’s Holiday Party is a family-friendly event in Healy Hall that is fun for children of all ages. Children of faculty and staff are invited to walk through our winter wonderland of sweet treats, play holiday-themed games, and take a photo with our special guest… Santa Claus!
