A Global Vision for Georgetown’s Future
Georgetown’s Catholic and Jesuit identity calls us to engage our academic mission in a way that responds to the needs and challenges of the world around us. Under President DeGioia’s leadership, the University launched new partnerships, programs, and initiatives that redefined what it means for us to be a global institution.
Georgetown University in Qatar
Our campus in Doha animates our global mission in new ways. Georgetown and the Qatar Foundation partnered in 2005 as part of a larger effort to establish Education City, a vibrant hub that now hosts eight universities and 13 schools. Our engagement in the region responds to Pope Francis’ call to build a “culture of encounter” in which our differences strengthen and enrich our shared pursuit of the common good.
