Announcement Regarding New Vice President for Global Engagement

Dear Colleagues:

I write to announce that Thomas Banchoff, Ph.D. has been named as our first Vice President for Global Engagement. Tom has been a crucial leader within our Georgetown community for many years, serving as Professor in our Department of Government and our School of Foreign Service. He also serves as Founding Director of our Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs, an appointment he will maintain. You can read more about Tom and his new role here.

With the addition of this new leadership position, we look forward to enhancing our existing global engagements and initiatives, while also expanding our partnerships into new territory. As we strengthen our work in these areas of critical importance, I remain deeply grateful to Tom for his dedication to Georgetown and to our mission of engaging in meaningful ways with our global community.

You have my very best wishes for a wonderful summer.

Sincerely,
John J. DeGioia
