Angel Tree

We never forget the books we loved as children. Every child should read, love, and own books. Throughout the Winter season, you can share the gift of reading with youngsters in local tutoring and mentoring programs and in area schools through the Angel Tree book drive. In 2007, more than 3,000 books were distributed to area children in need.

Select an Angel from the Angel Tree. Buy a book for the child described on the Angel ornament. Or bring in your own purchase or make a donation and leave the rest to us. Place books in the designated boxes with the Angel ornament inside the book for identification, and Georgetown students  will do the wrapping for you.

The Georgetown University bookstore will be offering a 20% discount for all children's books throughout the drive, which lasts until December 15, 2009.

This year's Angel Tree launch will take place on Thursday, October 29 at 11:00 a.m. in Riggs Library.   All are invited to attend to learn more about ways to volunteer and participate in this year's program.
